word poem:\\metaphor as object

ode to metaphor as object

Aren’t metaphors
as utterly real
as the voice
that calls them
into being?
We are not as if seasons,
we are Winter, we are Summer
and Autumn
is not a metaphor
for the aftertaste of apple,
and how is a tunic
more genuine
than a garment called Spring?
